Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at USA Half Marathon Champs in Houston Jan. 18; Heather Kampf Returns to Bermuda Mile Jan. 16; Results from Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Jan. 13, 2015 – Three Team USA Minnesota distance runners – Meghan Peyton, Eric Finan and Jon Peterson – will be among the runners in the deep American field that will compete at the USA Half Marathon Championships in Houston on Jan. 18.  The championships are held in conjunction with the Aramco Houston Half Marathon and will start at 6:55 a.m.

Peyton has a best of 1:13:43 in the half marathon and is the 2013 USA 20k Champion.  Finan has run 1:04:42 in the distance and will be running his second half marathon.  Peterson will be making his debut at the half marathon and has a best of 48:06 in the 10 mile.

In Bermuda, Heather Kampf will be in the elite women’s mile race that will be held the evening of Jan. 16 at the KPMG Bermuda Invitational Mile.  Kampf won the event in both 2013 and 2014.  She is also a two-time USA 1 Mile Road Champion (2012 and 2014).

At the Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Scotland on Jan. 10, Kampf was second in her leg of the 2 x 1k international mixed relay.  In the senior men’s 8k race, Jon Grey was 15th overall on the U.S. team that won the 8k cross country race.  In the match between Britain, Europe and the United States that tallied the scores of four races (junior women, junior men, senior men and senior women), the U.S. team won the challenge.
