Ritzenhein Prepares for the Road to Los Angeles and the Olympic TrialsPublished by
Dathan Ritzenhein, After Quiet Summer, Eyes '3 or 4' Races Before Olympic TrialsPublished by MLive on August 4, 2015 Dathan Ritzenhein has bigger plans ahead - specifically the Olympic Marathon in Rio de Janeiro - but the Rockford resident is expected to take part in Saturday's Meijer LPGA 5K Run & Walk presented by Kellogg's. The three-time Olympian won't run competitively and might not run at all, but he will add to the prestige of the morning event in Rockford. He will be joined by Greg Meyer, another Rockford resident and the 1983 winner of the Boston Marathon as well as a seven-time winner of the Fifth Third River Bank Run. The race, tied to the LPGA event this week at Blythefield Country Club, is sold out. It starts at Rockford's freshman center and finishes after a loop at the neighboring high school. Proceeds support local food pantries through Simply Give. More news |
