The male and female winners of Saturday’s Bix 7 road race in Davenport will earn a check for $12,500 – up from a first-prize of $10,000 that was offered in previous years.

The event, which begins at 8 a.m., is also part of the USA Track and Field championships for just the second time in its 35-year history.
