Aberu Kebede Will Look for Her Third Win at the Berlin Marathon

Aberu Kebede, from Ethiopia, will return to the BMW Berlin Marathon on 27 September in a bid to get her third win in the German capital after victories in 2010 and 2012.

Kebede ran her personal best of 2:20:30 in the IAAF Gold Label Road Race three years ago.

A strong challenger for Kebede will be Kenya’s 2014 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships gold medallist Gladys Cherono.

Cherono ran 2:20:03 in her marathon debut earlier this year, when finishing second in Dubai, a race in which Kebede finished fifth in 2:21.17.
