The MetroPCS Dallas Marathon today announced that Sara Hall, the 2012 U.S. Cross Country Champion and three-time Olympic Trials finalist, is running the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon on Sunday, December 8. In her half marathon debut earlier this fall, Hall set a personal best and broke the course record en route to a win at the Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. 

“This increasingly popular race continues to elevate itself to be among the nation’s best running events,” said Hall. “I’m so excited to run the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon.” 

Hall is a native of Santa Rosa, Ca., and competed collegiately at Stanford, where she was a seven-time All-American. She is a three-time Olympic Trials finalist, a Pan American Games Gold Medalist and the 2012 U.S. National Cross Country Champion. 

Hall and her husband, Ryan, an elite American marathoner and U.S. Olympian, established the nonprofit Hall Steps Foundation, which funds mentoring and running programs for at-risk youth. Ryan will cheer Sara on from the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon finish line.

Sara’s personal best in the half marathon is 1:14:33, which she hopes to beat in Dallas. The women’s course record for the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon is 1:11:32, set by Olara Nuta in 2008.  The 44th running of the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon and 5-Person Relays is Sunday, December 8.
