Top Three Manchester Road Race Finishers to ReturnPublished by the Manchester Road Race on November 8, 2013
The top three finishers from last year’s Manchester Road Race are expected to run here again on Thanksgiving Day. According to Dave Prindiville, elite runner coordinator for the race, Aaron Braun, Haron Lagat, and Donn Cabral have all indicated that they will compete. Braun won last year’s road race in the time of 21:19, tying the course record that Phillimon Hanneck set in 1995. Lagat, who won the MRR in 2009, was the runner-up in 21:31. Cabral, a Glastonbury native who competed in the finals of the 3000 meters steeplechase at the 2012 London Olympic Games, placed third with a time of 21:33. Prindiville indicated that Olympic marathon runner Desiree Davila and Lisa Uhl, who finished second here last year, were expected to lead the women’s division. “It should be a very strong and competitive elite field,” Prindiville said. The 77th Manchester Road Race will be run on Thanksgiving Day (November 28, 2013) at 10 a.m. The race starts and finishes on Main Street, in front of St. James Church. A field of 15,000 runners is expected. Read the full article at: www.manchesterroadrace.com.
