USA Track & Field Foundation contributes $30,000 to USA Distance Project Continuing its lead role in the USA Distance Project, the USA Track & Field Foundation has contributed $30,000 toward grants for six professional training groups in 2011. Groups receiving grants in 2011 are the Mammoth Track Club (Mammoth Lakes, CA); Team USA Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN); Team USA Arizona (Flagstaff, AZ); ZAP Fitness (Lenoir, NC); Bay Area Track Club (Oakland, CA) and New Jersey/New York Track Club (New Brunswick, NJ). Also supporting these training groups are the Houston Marathon Foundation, Twin Cities in Motion, MarathonGuide.com and the New York Road Runners. The USA Distance Project in the last six years has contributed more than $1M toward the development of American distance runners. “We applaud these premier training centers not only because they have fueled the surge in USA distance running performances,” said Jack Wickens, USATF Foundation Board member, “but also because they each have engaged their local communities and inspired America’s youth.” For more information, or to contribute to the Distance Project, please visit the USA Track & Field Foundation website at www.usatffoundation.org or contact Tom Jackovic at (412) 398-2484 or[email protected].
