Galen Rupp says he will withdraw from the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials

Galen Rupp, the U.S. record-holder in the 10,000 meters, said Saturday he was withdrawing from the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials.
The marathon trials will be held next Saturday in Houston.
Rupp, who never has run a marathon, said he entered originally because he felt confident in his training and wanted to keep his Olympic options open.
