Auckland City Harbour News It’s time to put all that training to good use. Sunday sees the HSBC Round the Bays, organised by Fairfax Media, the owners of the Auckland City Harbour News and the Sunday Star-Times, hit Auckland city streets from Quay St to St Heliers at 9.30am. Organisers are expecting as many as 70,000 people to the giant charity event which will raise money for Kidz First and Starship children’s hospitals and Gifted Kids. City centre streets will close for the event, with Quay St from lower Albert St to The Strand shut from 5am to 11.30am, Tamaki Drive from The Strand to Goldie St from 6am-11.30am, Goldie St from 6am-11.30am, and The Parade from 6am to 11.30am. Participants are asked not to run or walk over railway tracks, since trains will be operating on the day, and are reminded that it is walkers to the left, runners to the right. Buses costing $3 will run from the finish at St Heliers back to the startline for the event but be sure to leave plenty of time because parking is always an issue.
