Registration for the 2010 Lilac Bloomsday Run is open, and at $15 is one of the great bargains in American road racing.
"New
Year's resolutions often include a vow to get in better shape," said
Lilac Bloomsday Association President Jerry O'Neal through a news
release. "It should help solidify that commitment by signing up now
for a 7-1/2 mile (12 km) journey through the streets of Spokane on the
first Sunday in May."
Held in the eastern Washington city of
Spokane since 1977, the Lilac Bloomsday Run has grown to be the
third-largest, fully-timed road race in the United States. The 2009
edition had 45,477 finishers, up 4.2% in the recent Race Results Weekly
race participation analysis.
It's also one of the most
affordable big races, and will hold their entry fee to the $15 level
through April 18. However as an extra incentive through February 14,
the event will also place the names of every runner who enters into a
drawing for a trip for two for the Henry Weinhard’s St. Patrick’s Day
Dash in Seattle which takes place on March 14.
The 34th Lilac Bloomsday Run will take place on Sunday, May 2. Visit http://www.bloomsdayrun.org for complete information.
